Our Story
.
Wildforest Folk Emporium + Curios is curated by Claudia Grati, and is part of the Wildforest Folk collective, which you can find out more about here, or below in the next section.
Since 2011, Claudia has been an advocate for the fair trade movement, partnering with community groups around the world and exhibiting beautiful handmade creations to the delight of those who have encountered her eclectic collection at festivals and markets over the years- handmade instruments, Steiner/Montessori toys, homewares, gifts, jewellery and more!
In early 2021 Claudia decided to plant some roots, wave her wand and open a shop in Byron Bay! Wildforest Folk Emporium and Curios is the most magical little shop in Byron Bay (so she keeps getting told)- it has been called a sanctuary and a haven, and continues to attract a beautiful community of likeminds and kinfolk of all ages.
Eternally curious, and inspired by her love of and studies in the natural sciences, Claudia expanded Wildforest Folk Emporium’s collection to include a treasure trove of natural history curios (crystals, fossils and other marvelous wonders); along with a book shop dedicated to natural history, permaculture, plant medicine, sustainability, spirituality and philosophy. The shop still maintains a gorgeous range of fair trade artisan creations and now also includes products and art from local makers and creatives; teas, candles, jewellery, Sea Shepherd apparel, an amazing range of organic and heirloom seeds, tarot and oracle cards, and lots more- you never know what you’re going to find!
The Emporium is an inviting and whimsical space where imagination and creativity truly come alive! You can visit at 52 Jonson Street, Byron Bay- check our opening hours here. We are currently in the process of updating our online store- keep checking back as we have so much to share with you!
