Affectionately known to locals as ‘The Fed’, Alstonville’s iconic Federal Hotel has welcomed locals and tourists alike for more than 100 years.

More than a favourite watering-hole, The Fed is a local institution; a place where the community meets and friendships grow. Whilst the Hotel has undergone many refurbishments over the years, the Hotel’s original federation character is balanced alongside the essential features of a modern venue.

Inside the original historic building, you will find a friendly, social atmosphere, all-weather dining area and a shady beer garden for families to relax and enjoy live entertainment on Friday nights (and most Sunday afternoons in summer!). Our bistro is widely regarded as serving the best contemporary pub food in the region else.

The Federal Community

The Federal Hotel has a historical role in the Alstonville community and we proudly support the local Cricket Club, Hockey Club and Waterpolo Club.

We are also major sponsors of the Alstonville Rodeo Club, the Rotary Club and the Alstonville branch of the RSL.

To raise community awareness and support, The Federal Hotel jointly arranges raffles, donates function space and makes numerous other in-kind contributions to keep Alstonville’s community spirit alive and repay the many patrons who have supported our Hotel for so long.
