For over 30 years BayFM has soundtracked Byron life, providing a wide range of entertainment and information for everyone. We celebrate diversity, inclusion and respect in our programming. Like other community radio stations, BayFM is a not-for-profit media organisation. All our broadcasters and most support crew are unpaid volunteers, doing it for the love. We receive no guaranteed funding from any government or regional body, so we rely on the generous support of our community. If you’re a subscriber, donor or sponsor, many thanks – we can’t do it without you!

BayFM Community Radio is a volunteer run, not for profit radio station committed to keeping the community informed on local and global issues, presenting music and information not available on other media in this area, and on creating and maintaining a positive spirit in the community.

Bay FM’s philosophy is that as a unifying facility for the community, the station broadcasts programme content that:
- reflects, responds and contributes to the ideas and aspirations of the Byron Shire community
- exposes and discusses issues of importance to the community
- provides information to link the diverse facets of the community, and celebrates the unique character of the Byron Shire
