Byron And Beyond Community Event Byron Spirit Festival Byron Bay 2018 01

Byron Spirit Festival looks inward to its hometown and fills it with a blissed out weekend full of self-love, nurturing and healing, as part of this year’s festival they are offering the whole community free access to their vibrant Spirit Village.

The Spirit Village is where you will find a divine array of healthy food and market stalls featuring uniqueservices & products, all aligned with Byron Spirit Festival’s vision.

The Healing Village will offer a myriad of well-being opportunities; from Zen Thai Shiatsu & Aromatherapy through to Chakra Alignments and Tarot Reading.

The Spirit Stage is the heart of the Spirit Village and offers a live program during the day, showcasing the creators, musicians, visionaries, ethical entrepreneurs, healers and seers that collectively weave the web of these spiritual heartlands. The Spirited Master of Ceremonies,Paul Hunt, will ensure abundant laughter, insight and love shall flow all weekend in this warm tribal heart.

For those families struggling to keep their children entertained through the school holidays, Byron Spirit Festival is here to assist, teaming up again with Rainbow Kids Yoga for the Rainbow Yoga Family Space. Offering daily yoga workshops designed for kids, teens and the whole family, as well as an obstacle course and awesome yoga craft projects.

The Rainbow Yoga Space is a family friendly, shady hub, which will offer kids & teens yoga sessions, conscious craft and creative activities for young and old.

Join us in the Spirit Village and stretch with the whole family in this fun and creative play space. This year will also see the introduction of ACRO Intro and Progressions Workshops, and as a follow up in the market space, they are inviting you to integrate and share your skills in Acroyoga Playground. For those new to the practice, Acroyoga is a blend of three interconnecting practices; acrobatics to train strength, endurance and alignment, yoga for flexibility of mind and body, and therapeutic flying and thai massage to manage our recovery and integration Acroyoga acknowledges that through play we are building healthy and vibrant individuals, relationships and communities. Essential for our social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, play also cultivates our imagination, creativity and problem-solving abilities, helping us to see problems in a new light and come up with creative solutions.

Zoe Braithwaite of YogaJoy will be care taking this playground, along with other experienced acroyoga practitioners including Abigail Portwin, Russ Demuth, Chase Erbacher and Justin Wolf Heart. This playground is free entry, and open throughout the festival, offering opportunities to enjoy the acrobatic and therapeutic aspects of the practice, depending on your needs.

Byron Spirit Festival has joined forces with A Sound Life, who has come on board as the official charity partner for this year’s festival. A Sound Life is the first well-being charity in Australia to bring free live music, therapeutic yoga and meditation to people in need. They will be transporting their very own Sound Life Dome from Sydney to provide this year’s Spirit Stage. They also have programs for disadvan taged children in Tanzania, Indonesia and India. A Sound Life Started in 2014 with one weekly session at Sydney Childr en’s hospital and they now service over 600 free sessions per year in 22 facilities across NSW, uplifting thespirits of over 5000 people. They are a rapidly growing grass-roots organisation and plan to go national by 2020. In addition to their Sound Life Programs, they have many exciting initiatives underway including the launch of the Sanctuary in Sydney, a geodesic dome that will be the Sydney hub for their programs, training and events, and a space for community, creativity, inspirational events, corporate wellbeing and social impact. An epicentre for goodness! They also offer corporate wellness programs for organisations in the workplace, at conferences and special events. A Sound Life are so excited about the partnership with Byron Spirit Festival and the opportunity it creates for ASL to expand their programs and grow our impact in the NSW Northern Rivers.
